Green Coatings – Combine Strength, Elongation & Coating Memory

4000% Elongation

It was recently reconfirmed in a simple real life setting how well GEI (GLOBAL Encasement, Inc.) coatings hold up in extreme situations. Testing and Approvals are always important to back up claims, although it is just as important to have the coatings perform in real world scenarios. A homeowner had coated their entire kitchen including over the hot water heater. Just recently, a pipe broke in that heater and the casing that was coated held the liquid and stopped the kitchen from being flooded. A small slit was put in the coating to let the scalding hot water run out into a bucket allowing the leak to be controlled until the pipe was shut off. Once the water stopped leaking and all the fluid was drained out from behind the coating, the coating shrank back down to its original shape. This demonstrated the outstanding coating characteristics of strength, elongation and coating memory. These impactful features are not found in typical coatings or standard paints.

Trap Water Inside the Coating

The picture above left shows the casing that was coated held the liquid inside from the broken pipe of the heater. Picture above right: Drained water after putting a small slit on the ballooning coating.

This simple example demonstrates how a building and roof protected with GEI coatings can be defended against some of the worst and harshest conditions, while also safely sealing in hazardous building materials such as Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint. Imagine your building or home coated with these impressive green materials that move with all the extreme expansion and contraction that takes place through heat, cold and vibration. Get the picture?
